How to remove a virus from .exe

I got an exe with a virus. the IOBit anti malware stops it from running. It's a huge program and I really need the .exe. I was wondering what you think is the best way to use it without messing up the computer. Do you think its wise to monitor the install with a registry monitoring to see the affected keys and remove them. Or do you think its possible to remove the virus from the exe and still keep it usable. I remember a program called whatchanged that would display both registries side by side like a spread sheet so that you can evaluate the changes now I see a freeware version that's not quite up to snuff. Or could you recommend another program

    Blue Screen 0x0000008e

This might sound like a newbie Solution but I was getting the blue screen after attaching my 5th external usb drive. I was able to detach it and run xp for five minutes before getting the BSOD. I found XP REPAIR PRO 5 and install and run it and it found 5 corrupted registry keys it fixed it I assume. Haven't had a problem since. EDIT__ Well it stopped the BSOD so I can use the OS but I still get it if the hard drive is attached at start up. Well I guess I.ll experiment with the usb ports to see if its the MB, Ext Drive, or the OS. Perhaps it time for a reinstall.

    Taiyo Yuden-Watershield and Hard Coat-Burning

i get 1.11 mm for a typical windata cd-r ; 1.19 mm for verbatim dvd-r ; 1.24 mm for the hub printable TY hard coat or watershield dvd-r.
  5. I have tried to make backups of certain dvd's on regular media and have great success. But they do not last long in the hands of kids. So I ordered the Taiyo Yuden-Watershield and Hard Coat line of products but don't have good success.I get HIGH PI and PIF( errors and failures). It might be playable but might not load or stall after a while depending on where the bad burn is. I tried it on a sony optiarc, samsung sh-bo83L (combo bd/dvd burner with lightscribe**I thought this one would work for sure***) and older liteon shw160p6s. and benq burner. I think Roxio used to make a burn program that would allow you to adjust the intensity of the laser, but That was ages ago and haven't heard of any lately that will do that. I think the coatings that make it scratch resistant and finger print resistant make it harder for the laser to get through to the dye levels. I have beautiful burns on store brand Verbatim disks but the TY brands mentioned just don't want to burn top quality disc's. I have tried multiple burn speeds on each optical drive, with slow being the best, but just not anywhere near a good burn at all. Any one got any ideas?
