  4. Kim Dotcom: US Military Had 15,634 Megaupload Accounts In recent weeks the battle has continued to save the data stored at the now-defunct site Megaupload. Contrary to the image painted by the entertainment industries, untold numbers of people used the file-hosting service for completely legitimate sharing. Today we can reveal that not only did people at the Senate, Department of Homeland Security, FBI and NASA hold Megaupload accounts, so did more than 15,600 members of the US Military. Ever since Megaupload was dismantled in January there have been concerns about data being held on the site’s servers. While the MPAA and RIAA insist that the site was simply a huge piracy hub, the facts point to a much bigger picture of people using the site for countless legitimate transfers of files simply too big to email. As mentioned earlier this month, Megaupload’s legal team is working hard to reunite site users with their data, an aim also shared by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) with their MegaRetrieval campaign. As part of this process, Megaupload discovered that a large number of Mega accounts are held by US government officials. Today, thanks to fresh information provided to TorrentFreak by Kim Dotcom, we can reveal more details. From domains including dhs.gov, doe.gov, fbi.gov, hhs.gov, nasa.gov, senate.gov, treas.gov and uscourts.gov, the number of accounts held at Megaupload total 1058. Of these, 344 users went the extra mile and paid for premium access. Between them they uploaded 15,242 files – a total of 1,851,791 MB. While a couple of million megabytes of lost data is bad enough, another group – the ladies and gentlemen of the US Military – stands to lose much, much more. From domains including af.mil, army.mil, centcom.mil, navy.mil and osd.mil etc, a total of 15,634 are registered with Megaupload. Of these an impressive 10,223 people paid to upgrade to a premium Megaupload account and between them they uploaded 340,983 files – a total of 96,507,779 MB. There is no suggestion that any of these military operatives or government employees were using Megaupload for infringing uses but it is almost guaranteed that documents, photographs and videos are now at serious risk of deletion. More on Kim Dotcom’s response to the US indictment is published in our feature article. http://torrentfreak.com/kim-dotcom-us-military-had-15634-megaupload-accounts-120326/ _________________ Well.....I say - Fail!

    Daddy? O_O

That sounds like a carbon-copy of what I went through. Found out I was going to be a Dad at 20, always smoking pot(never in trouble for it though), no job, no money. All the advice I can offer you bro is, keep your head held high, deal with your problems head on and be honest with each other. Nothing says you have to stop smoking pot, heck I don't know what I wouldve done if I had stopped lol. But keep it in moderation, away from prying eyes and mainly away from your 'Baby Momma' lol and also the child when that point comes lol. But honestly buddy, things have a way of working out, IF you want them to. Keep plugging away and give your child the best welcome to life that you possibly can, the rewards speak for themselves, you will know exactly what I, and all the other parents in the world mean when that time comes. Good luck bro, I truly hope things work out for you ctd

    Assassin Creed 3

I thought it was a bit of a letdown I was expecting something made with the game engine, like GTAV did. But as far as trailers go, I thought it was a bit 'Meh!'. Revelations and II 's trailers were much more exciting, this looked like it hadnt had as much time and care going into it. Climbing trees looks like fun though

    Assassin Creed 3

You are right in a sense, Revelations was the last in the Assassins Creed II 'era', so no more Ezio and no more Altair. 3 will have a new Assassin to control in the Animus and will finish off Desmonds story from what I understand, thus finishing the entire story....But I imagine they will find a way to milk another couple of games after that
  23. (Reuters) - U.S. crime-fighters failed in a bid to keep alleged Internet pirate Kim Dotcom behind bars on Wednesday when a New Zealand court freed him from jail and instead put him under effective house arrest and banned him from using the Internet. The court, in upholding a bail application by the German founder of file-sharing website Megaupload, cast some doubt on the multi-millionaire's purported flight risk pending an extradition hearing scheduled for August. "I'm relieved to go home and see my three little kids and my pregnant wife," a smiling Dotcom, 38, said after the ruling, as he was hustled toward a waiting car by supporters and lawyers. Wearing his usual black T-shirt, trouser and jacket, he vowed to fight the eventual extradition hearing on U.S. charges of copyright piracy, racketeering and money-laundering. Kim Dotcom, who has New Zealand residency and is also known as Kim Schmitz and Kim Tim Jim Vestor, had been in custody since his arrest in a military-style raid on January 20 on his mansion outside Auckland by local police acting on a U.S. warrant. Under the bail conditions, Dotcom, who kept a private helicopter as part of his lavish lifestyle, must live in a small house near the mansion he had rented and wear an electronic tag. He will be restricted in how far he can travel. The judge also banned helicopters from flying to or landing on the property. Prosecutors say Dotcom was the ringleader of a group that netted $175 million since 2005 by copying and distributing music, movies and other copyrighted content without authorization through Megaupload.com and related websites, among the world's busiest before they were shut down last month. Dotcom's lawyers say the company simply offered online storage and that he strenuously denies the U.S. charges. MULTIPLE PASSPORTS Dotcom obtained bail on his second attempt, after the judge said a review of the facts and Dotcom's circumstances showed he was less of a risk of fleeing than before. This month, the High Court had upheld a lower court judge's ruling that there was a major risk Dotcom, who had passports and bank accounts in three names, might try to flee the country. But Judge Nevin Dawson Wednesday reasoned that bail could be awarded, given that there was no new evidence that Dotcom had undisclosed funds he could use to aid in a flight from justice. He said prosecutors had been unable to find any new funds or assets that had not already been seized, and prosecution claims that he was a wealthy man was not sufficient reason to hold him. Dotcom's three co-accused were also bailed until late August for the hearing of U.S. extradition request. A U.S. Justice Department spokeswoman declined immediate comment On the New Zealand bail ruling. Judge David McNaughton, who presided in previous hearings, set August 20 as the earliest date he could hear the extradition case, which he has scheduled to last three weeks. Prosecutors said the formal extradition application has not yet been received but was expected by early March. Last week, a U.S. grand jury added more charges against Megaupload and its executives, alleging they took copyrighted material from sites such as YouTube for its own service. Dotcom and his co-accused were arrested after some 70 armed New Zealand police raided his country estate at the request of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation. Officers cut Dotcom out of a safe room he had barricaded himself in within the sprawling mansion, reputedly New Zealand's most expensive home. Property including more than a dozen luxury vehicles was seized and bank accounts worth millions were frozen. A small group of Dotcom's friends and supporters listened through both hearings. "Of course I'm pleased, absolutely. It's about time," a young woman said, but declined to be named. Dotcom has told the court earlier that with his assets frozen and business shut down, he had no intention of trying to flee to his native Germany, where he would be safe from extradition. Legal experts have said extradition hearings are likely to be drawn out with appeals likely all the way to the country's highest court.
