  1. Microsoft has revealed the release date for its latest Operating System, Windows 10. According to Microsoft,Windows 10 will be available beginning 29 July 2015 in 190 markets globally as a free upgrade to individuals running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

Microsoft revealed that Windows 10 has been built with the help of more than four million people around the world.

The reveal came in the form of a news post by Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Operating Systems.

In the article Myerson states that: “We designed Windows 10 to create a new generation of Windows for the 1.5 billion people using Windows today in 190 countries around the world. With Windows 10, we start delivering on our vision of more personal computing, defined by trust in how we protect and respect your personal information, mobility of the experience across your devices, and natural interactions with your Windows devices, including speech, touch, ink, and holograms. We designed Windows 10 to run our broadest device family ever, including Windows PCs, Windows tablets, Windows phones, Windows for the Internet of Things, Microsoft Surface Hub, Xbox One and Microsoft HoloLens—all working together to empower you to do great things.”

Myerson added that: “Windows 10 brings back the Start menu you know and love. Windows 10 is faster than ever before, with quick startup and resume. And Windows 10 provides the most secure platform ever, including Windows Defender for free anti-malware protection, and being the only platform with a commitment to deliver free ongoing security updates for the supported lifetime of the device.”

According to Myerson, the following features will be available on Windows 10:

Cortana: The world’s first truly personal digital assistant helps you get things done. Cortana learns your preferences to provide relevant recommendations, fast access to information, and important reminders. Interaction is natural and easy via talking or typing. And the Cortana experience works not just on your PC, but can notify and help you on your smartphone too.

Microsoft Edge: An all-new browser designed to get things done online in new ways, with built-in commenting on the web – via typing or inking — sharing comments, and a reading view that makes reading web sites much faster and easier. With Cortana integrated, Microsoft Edge offers quick results and content based on your interests and preferences. Fast, streamlined and personal, you can focus on just the content that matters to you and actively engage with the web.

Office on Windows: In addition to the Office 2016 full featured desktop suite, Windows 10 users will be able to experience new universal Windows applications for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, all available separately. These offer a consistent, touch-first experience across a range of devices to increase you productivity. Designed from the ground up to run on Windows 10, you can easily create and edit Word documents, and deliver PowerPoint presentations while annotating on the fly. With new touch-first controls in Excel you can create or update spreadsheets without a keyboard or mouse. You will also be able to enjoy new versions of OneNote and Outlook, which are included with Windows 10 at no additional cost.

Xbox Live and the integrated Xbox App bring new game experiences to Windows 10. Xbox on Windows 10 brings the expansive Xbox Live gaming network to both Windows 10 PCs and tablets. Communicate with your friends on Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One – while playing any PC game. You can capture, edit and share your greatest gaming moments with Game DVR, and play new games with friends across devices. You can play games on your PC, streamed directly from your Xbox One console to your Windows 10 tablets or PCs, within your home. Games developed for DirectX 12 in Windows 10 will see improvements in speed, efficiency and graphics capability.

New Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People, Mail & Calendar apps have updated designs that look and feel familiar from app to app and device to device.  You can start something on one device and continue it on another since your content is stored on and synched through OneDrive.

Windows Continuum enables today’s best laptops and 2-in-1 devices to elegantly transform from one form factor to the other, enabling smooth transitions of your tablet into a PC, and back. And new Windows phones with Continuum can be connected to a monitor, mouse and physical keyboard to make your phone work like a PC.

Windows Hello, greets you by name and with a smile, letting you log in without a password and providing instant, more secure access to your Windows 10 devices. With Windows Hello, biometric authentication is easy with your face, iris, or finger, providing instant recognition.

Windows Store, with easy install and uninstall of trusted applications, supported by the broadest range of global payment methods.

Windows 10 means no more Media Center, even if you paid for it

When users upgrade to Windows 10 they’ll be adding plenty of new features but there is a list of features they will lose in the upgrade. One of them is the removal of Windows Media Center. Even if users paid for WMC, for example with Windows 8 or 8.1 Pro, it will be removed from their device when they upgrade to Windows 10. For a full list of features that will be removed you can go to Microsoft's page on the subject.

We already knew that WMC was going away with Windows 10 due to reports of a private meeting in San Francisco during Build Conference but it was brought up again in the news by a tweet from Gabe Aul who stated that “WMC will not be preserved.”

While WMC never had a large usage rate, those that did use it have voiced negativity about its departure at least partly because WMC has the ability to record live television. As of now the Xbox One, which many have pointed towards as an alternative though it does require owning the console, does not work as a DVR but there have been rumors that such a feature could be coming soon. That would be a bit of this whole story coming full circle because back in 2013 we speculated that the downfall of WMC may be the success of the Xbox line of consoles.

  3. Thank you. However, that seems to miss the question. The questions are:

*How do I confirm my user account is the administrator? And if it is not, how can I find the administrator account, as this is the only user account I find on this machine.

*How do I make my user account the administrator? If I can't, then how do I make an administrator account, and without having to link it to a registered Microsoft account?

*Is the issue that this user account is a local account, and it has no password set up? If so, what changes do I need to make, and how?

The explanation given above seems to go to how to assign privileges to a particular application. That is not the issue here. The issue is the user account, not the application.

    Thanks.

EDIT: OK, in looking into this more, perhaps you were on the mark, perhaps the issue was with the application. Although it can be explained and addressed far more simply than what is written above.

In that case, the message given when I clicked on Edit License Code needed to be a lot more clear! The issue was not whether I was logged in as administrator. Instead, for some reason, I have to give administrator privileges to the application - which makes no sense to me. I found how to do so, and with that, I can now get into the window to Edit License Code!

I went to the Quark application at C/Program Files/Quark/QuarkXpress 2015/QuarkXpress.exe. I right-clicked on it, and went to Properties. In Properties, I find in the Compatibility tab that there is a setting to "Run this program as an administrator." To change that setting, I have to click on Change Settings for all users. In there, I could click on "Run this program as an administrator." I clicked that check box, and then hit the Apply button.

With that, and closing that window, I opened Quark, and yes, now I can get into the window for Edit License Code and do things there.

That makes no sense to me since the application can't act as an administrator. I take it to be a backwards way of saying: "allow changes by an adminsitrator." If so, that is what it should say!

So, I guess the application has to be given administrator priviledges. Odd.

Good evening dear member there there's two way to view your post and I'll get to the point here :
disconnect cable and wifi during the windows installation an internet connection you will require a Microsoft login

    Android M

    2015_05_31_02_48_35.gif

Google I/O keynote address, the company shared the first look at Android M with the world, going over some key features and making the first developer preview releases available for Nexus hardware. Plenty of things we had heard rumored over the past few months made an appearance, like granular app permissions and standardized fingerprint reader support. And while not everything we were hoping for saw confirmation, the availability of the Android M dev preview has revealed that one big unannounced feature is indeed lurking under the surface, as support for split-screen apps is uncovered.

While this multi-window mode isn’t available in the Android M preview by default, a little system file editing can enable debug mode and make the option appear in system settings.

And sure enough: it works. That said, if you start playing with it a little it should quickly become apparent why Google didn’t highlight this feature at I/O, as it’s quite buggy for now. But even with the presence of some issues, it’s still a major step forward to see this support functional in stock Android at all, especially with it being rumored for as long as it has been.

Will it be polished up and ready for consumption by the public release of Android M this fall? There are no guarantees, and it very may wait for a future release, but this is still a step in the right direction.

  5. Running with Administrator Privileges

The first step in establishing which type of account your application needs to run under is to examine what resources the application will use and what privileged APIs it will call. You may find that the application, or large parts of it, do not require administrator privileges. Writing Secure Code, by Michael Howard and David LeBlanc offers an excellent description of how to carry out this assessment and is highly recommended. (This resource may not be available in some languages and countries.)

You can provide the privileges your application needs with less exposure to malicious attack by using one of the following approaches:

Run under an account with less privilege. One way to do this is to use PrivilegeCheck to determine what privileges are enabled in a token. If the available privileges are not adequate for the current operation, you can disable that code and ask the user to logon to an account with administrator privileges.

Break into a separate application functions that require administrator permissions. You can provide for the user a shortcut that executes the RunAs command. For detailed instructions on how to set up the shortcut, search for "runas" in Help. Programmatically, you can configure the RunAs command under the AppId Key registry key for your application.

Authenticate the user by calling CredUIPromptForCredentials (GUI) or CredUICmdLinePromptForCredentials (command line) to obtain user name and password. For an example, see Asking the User for Credentials.

Impersonate the user. A process that starts under a highly privileged account like System can impersonate a user account by calling ImpersonateLoggedOnUser or similar Impersonate functions, thus reducing privilege level. However, if a call to RevertToSelf is injected into the thread, the process returns to the original System privileges.

If you have determined that your application must run under an account with administrator privileges and that an administrator password must be stored in the software system, see Handling Passwords for methods of doing this safely.

  8. Hey

importantly, neither I nor the Forum is responsible for the damage incurred during the mishandling of this tutorial
is urgently contacted a professional to have a meers of the operation

The Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920) cell phone from T-Mobile USA is using a custom firmware preventing the phone from being unlocked by code as there is no way to enter it (these phone are simply not asking for “SIM Network Unlock PIN”). Before this post, the only way to Unlock the phone was by using the official T-Mobile  “Mobile Device Unlock App” which is an Android app called “Device Unlock” that allows you to request and apply a mobile device unlock directly from the device. And absolutely no code that you’ll be able to buy online will work using this app.

    samsung_galaxy_6_t_mobile_locked_screen.

So what do you do if you get an Unlock Code but you cannot use it?

Now there is a solution consisting of an upgrade to the firmware of the phone with MetroPCS Firmware instead of T-Mobile, and this will allow the phone to ask for the Unlock Code. Below you will find a tutorial about how to do this. Once you flash (update) your Phone with this New Firmware, please make sure that your Samsung SM-G920T is now asking for “SIM Network Unlock PIN”. And if the answer is yes you can then click this link to order the Unlock Code of your Samsung Galaxy 6 from T-Mobile USA.

    Service Name: Samsung T-Mobile USA [NEW GEN 2015] – NCK + SPCK (1<>4 Hours Mon-Fri) – [Tool ID: 775]

Please note: This method has been proven to work because it uses Samsung’s Official programs and the Official stock MetroPCS provided Images. As with any Official carrier or manufacturer  firmware flashing this must be done at Your Own Discretion. The instructions are outlined CLEARLY and you must follow the instructions exactly. If any issues arise we cannot take responsibility for any issues. If you do not want to proceed, unfortunately we are unable to provide refunds as stated on our website before ordering. Please contact us for more information. You MUST perform these instructions and make sure the phone prompts with a NON accepted sim before you order or No Refunds!

AFTER FLASHING A SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 FROM T-MOBILE WITH THIS FIRMWARE THE PHONE WILL FINALLY ASK FOR A NETWORK CODE WHEN YOU PUT A NON APPROVED CARRIER’S SIM CARD ON THE PHONE.

    samsung_galaxy_s6_sim_network_unlock_pin

AFTER YOU HAVE UNLOCKED YOUR PHONE YOU CAN STILL FLASH A T-MOBILE FIRMWARE BACK TO THE DEVICE SO THAT IT GOES BACK TO ORIGINAL STOCK AND SO DOES NOT LOSE WARRANTY. BUT THE PHONE WILL RELOCK AS SOON AS YOU FLASH IT BACK WITH T-MOBILE FIRMWARE.
