    Turbobit - troubled bit?

While I agree that RG is "horrible" (as I typically have to try 10 times to get even one download to complete), all too often, it is the ONLY filehost that posters use. So, I would object to banning it -- despite its problems. Personally, I've found Uploaded to be the best (even though it's rarely used) and FileFactory to be fairly good-- although with this, results are inconsistent.

need Windows 7 64 bit (Completed)

NOTE to Downloaders: This does NOT, repeat NOT, make ANY copies of Windows "genuine"; instead, what it does is install software that allows you to continue to use Windows "as if" it were genuine. It will work, but it only lasts for 6 month intervals and has to be renewed every six months to continue working.
  3. Even though I've had a premium RG account for years, recently, I've noticed that it has become all but impossible to download anything. The download starts, runs for 5 secs or so, slows to 14.7KB -- and sits there not downloading for another 5 minutes until it fails with a "network error". The other situation is that the download picks up speeds, gets up to 15+ MB/sec and then suddenly drops to zero, at which it does the same as above. This means that a download that is supposed to take 30 seconds ends up taking an hour or more, as I restart it 40-50 times! Anyone else run into this and have a workaround? Asking because, in many cases, the only DL links that work are RG and I don't have an option to use a different filesharing service.

    Which Anti-Virus to use?

I have found MalwareBytes Anti-Maleware (MBAM) to do the best job for me. I have used others, including Eset and Norton and MBAM did a better job than both of those at finding stuff and preventing it.

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

Did that -- did not make any difference.

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

Unfortunately, it did not help. I installed JDownloader 2, copied the RG link into it, tried the download. It was real slow and, after less than a minute, the connection terminated. This is the same result of trying to download it manually. So basically, that did not work.

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

Well, I DO download lots of files --because they keep failing on me, so it can take 40+ download attempts before I get a complete file. Other than the Browser cache, where are these other cache's located?

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

OK, I'll have to take a look at JDownloader 2 -- as that seems to be the common way of addressing this.

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

I do have a premium account, so it's not strictly a problem with file sizes. Any file that I attempt to download, regardless of the size, runs into this same problem. Also, I use other filesharing services and RG is the only one with this problem -- but unfortunately, it also seems to be the only one that still has downloads available after the other sites files have been removed.

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

But isn't Jdownloader just a download manager, and since I can see the RG downloads stopping and then aborting in real time (less than a minute), I don't understand how that will help. Also, how does a different File Host play into solving the RG downloading problem?

    Rapidgator becoming useless for downloads!

I've tried both Firefox and Chromium, and there is no difference in the dismal performance of RG in either.
  14. Having used Linux distros on a daily basis for well over 10 years now, I can certainly attest that "Switching to Linux" is a no-go for the vast majority of Windows users. Why? Because Linux is not now, nor has it ever been, constructed as a free drop-in replacement for MS Windows. And while true that it does perform MANY of the same end-user functions that are done by Windows apps, it does NOT run the same Windows apps (despite the claim of Wine enthusiasts), and the apps it does run look and feel quite different from the Windows apps that folks are accustomed to using. So, folks jumping into Linux expecting to see their familiar MS office, or Internet Explorer, or Edge -- are in for a rude awakening. Plus, it always takes a while for the Linux community to produce working drivers for the latest and greatest hardware -- which is what folks are going to see when they buy new Win10 PCs and decide to switch them to Linux. One more thing -- changes to the Linux infrastructure happen all the time, and when they do, the Linux users are forced to resort to command-line editing of obscure system files in order to keep their machines running. Twice in the last two months, I have had to do exactly this in order to keep my Mint 18.1 and Ubuntu 16.10 systems working. In both cases, neither of these distros would even boot to a desktop anymore. Fortunately, I do have Windows OSs on my desktop and I was able to obtain patch code from the Mint and Ubuntu forums for making the needed corrections to the system files. This sort of "routine" repair is WAY BEYOND the scope of probably 99% of the Windows community of users -- many of which have never even seen a command line, let alone use it. As long as these kinds of problems continue to plague Linux distros, they will remain a very, very small part of the personal computer community.

Stop Windows 10 From Tracking You

Just so everyone knows, this app was tested and it did NOT stop the tracking information being sent out. I used a different app -- Destroy Windows Spying -- and while it has not been tested, I'm presuming it works, as I do not have the equipment to verify that it does.

    Is Flirchi true?

You should read the linked post and then decide: http://www.datingbusters.com/our-review-explains-if-flirchi-com-is-a-legitimate-dating-service/ Don't use dating sites, so I can't provide any first-hand advice. Good Luck

    Anti-Virus Program Issues

I'm using Chromium and a recent update changed the security settings on me -- such that, after that, I could not download ANYTHING from any filesharing site. I found that in Advanced Settings --> Privacy --> Protect ... from dangerous sites. I unchecked that and could download again. Suggest you check the security settings of your browser, as well.

    windows instalation

When migrating like this, you generally have to use something like SysPrep to remove the activation information ahead of time, and then after migration, individually activate each machine. Don't be surprised, after you do this, if you start seeing error messages about one or more of the target machines being "deactivated".

    BOOT USB

You can't just copy a bunch of Windows ISOs to a USB and expect to boot them. Nearly all the downloads you see for booting Window from USB sticks are for WinPE, NOT for Windows itself. There's considerable work needed to get Windows itself to boot from a USB stick. Fortunately, someone has figured out how to do this: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-run-a-portable-version-of-windows-from-a-usb-dri-1565509124

    Download: Windows 10 ISOs

Be advised that MS has changed their Media Creation Tool options. Originally, if you downloaded an ISO, or created a bootable USB/DVD, you could choose whatever bit-size you wanted. This meant that you could be running 64-bit and download a 32-bit file. That is no longer the case. You now must download the bit-size that matches the OS you're using when you run the tool.

    Good day to you all!

Do NOT be in a hurry to upgrade to Win10 -- unless you have one of the newer Win8.1 PCs, in which case, the upgrade will probably go smoothly. I have three Win7 machines, tried upgrade on two, both failed. One reverted to Win7 OK but the other remained in an unusable state. Has taken me three days of hard work to get it back to the useful state it was in prior to the upgrade. Whatever you decide to do, BEFORE you do the upgrade, make an image backup with Macrium Reflect to an external drive. If your PC gets trashed, that backup will save you hours or days of work.

Windows 10 can disable pirated games and unauthorised hardware

Not surprised by this. Have been involved in Beta testing Windows software for decades and Win10 is the single biggest disappointment I have ever run across. If they weren't giving it away, practically no one would be using it. Also have been in the Windows Insiders group since the very beginning and only a small percentage really like Win10; most simply think it's OK, and the rest of us (including me), think it is no more than a rebranded "8.2". Noticed they left the "spyware clause" in there for the Release. Thought they would at least take THAT out -- but apparently, they did not.

How Do I Create Windows Administrator?

ispea: You are NOT the Administrator; instead, you have a normal user account with some elevated priviledges. The REAL Administrator account is hidden from you -- this is by design because, if you run as the Real Admin, and your machine gets a virus or some other form of malware, there is nothing to stop it from infecting the entire OS! If you Google for Unhide the Administrator Account in Windows 8.1, you will find links that will provide the instructions you need to (1) unhide it, and (2) then login using it. But, given the risks, I would strongly advise against doing that; instead, do the right-click Run as Administrator option to run thing that need elevated priviledges.

Upgrade to Windows 10 Free Offer

Actually, in the Win10 Insiders Program, they do have a clause in the agreement that allowed them to record everything you do .. and I got into online arguments with MS fanbois about whether or not this was "keylogging". My position was, that since MS got permission to record any and all keystrokes, then "by definition", it was "keylogging". The counter argument was that since no one could PROVE that MS was collecting everything, that it was not. I think my position was the correct one.
