  3. You're a different person online compared to your real life. It's okay. You don't have to irrationally like cats just because you're obsessed with cat videos. You don't have to literally poke the people you poked on Facebook. You don't have to like or follow or tag or comment or stalk celebrities like you do on the Internet. Because if you did that in real life, you'd be a total creep. BuzzFeed Video imagined 7 things that'd be super creepy to do in real life, even though you do them on the Internet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ziQFFh5jznI
  4. In looking at the way that the internet is performing across the world in 2013, it’s very clear that many countries are hitting their stride and growing in terms of their adoption of broadband. However, that growth comes at a cost: according to Akamai’s latest State of the Internet report for the second quarter of 2013. Overall, the number of unique IPv4 addresses has swollen to over 752 million — approximately 18 million more than the first quarter to create a 2 percent increase overall quarter-over-quarter. While it sounds like a small number in the grand scheme of things, Akamai noted that the number of unique IPv4 addresses is slowly dwindling. As major gains continue in developing nations like Tanzania and Mozambique, the IPv4 address pool is quickly becoming exhausted. While the size of the web is getting bigger, internet connections are also becoming faster. The global average connection speed saw a 5.2 percent increase quarter-over-quarter to 3.3 Mbps. Even more important is the number of countries that have a connection speed of less than 1 Mpbs, which has dwindled to just 11 from 18 in the fourth quarter of 2012. Overall, this indicates that developing companies are increasing their average internet connection speeds, and already-developed nations are improving their infrastructure. The Global average peak connection speed increased just 0.1 percent to 18.9 Mbps, but more countries than ever are passing the 10 Mbps connection speed mark. However, the increased sophistication of global internet networks has lead to the U.S. becoming outmoded in the top tiers of connectivity. While the U.S. remains eighth in average connection speeds, it no longer registers in the top 10 for peak connection speeds (which it has been left out of all year) and now rests at 10th in overall high broadband speeds. America is lodged in a flat period for broadband growth while smaller, developing countries to reach better connectivity. It’s high time to get gigabit networks deployed, or risk being left in the dust.
  5. In a scathing statement on the state of the Web, leading organizations on Internet policy, governance, and architecture blasted the U.S. for its spying on Internet users. Without calling out the United States by name, leaders from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), ICANN, the Internet Architecture Board, and other organizations nevertheless made it clear that the U.S.’s policies and practices are harmful to an open web. From the official statement: They called for accelerating the globalization of ICANN and IANA functions, towards an environment in which all stakeholders, including all governments, participate on an equal footing. Currently, the U.S. Department of Commerce wields a substantial amount of control and unilateral oversight where ICANN is concerned. Also, the next Internet Governance Summit will be held in Brazil, where President Dilma Rousseff has been vocally critical of U.S. Internet surveillance. Rousseff cancelled a diplomatic visit to the U.S. in the wake of the Snowden revelations (including the fact that the U.S. was spying on Brazil, an ally). Rousseff told reporters as the summit location was announced.

Remote Access Dialer hangs laptop (Win7)

This is a tricky one. I have a Broadband Connection. Whenever my Internet loses connection maybe due to human error or power failures and i didnt had the opportunity to manually Disconnect it, The Remote Acces Dialer tries to reestablish the connection. This results in System hang. Becames unbearably slow, Tried to end Process RASAUTOU.EXE (which i beleive is the culprit) or explorer.exe (which usually works) but i still cant Reconnect to internet now as the option of "Connect" only will be unlocked after Restart. (assuming that i managed to end process - which most of the time becomes Impossible.) Dont know if i can post other links in here for your and mine help. Its a similiar question asked on Microsoft Answers, maybe it will help you come to a solution. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/system-hangs-remote-access-dialer-rasautouexe/d0b2e41b-df99-4a0f-a170-797eac9447f9?msgId=2951561d-7864-4563-86a7-38f9f333bc5e
