uk666 5,298 Report post Posted September 15, 2019 Try the following fix. 1. Uninstall all office related programs on your PC 2. Reboot PC Open Task Scheduler. Windows 10 includes a shortcut for the Task Scheduler in the Start Menu. 2. Open the Start Menu and scroll downwards until you find the Windows Administrative Tools folder. 3. Inside it, you can find the shortcut for the Task Scheduler. 4. Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Office > Delete Office folder. 5. Reboot the machine 6. Install office package. If above mentioned steps didn’t work for you, try FIX 2. FIX 2 – Using RegistryRegistry Disclaimer: The further steps will involve registry manipulation. Making mistakes while manipulating registry could affect your system adversely. So be careful while editing registry entries and create a System Restore point first. 1. Press win + R and put regedit in Run dialog box to open Registry Editor 2. In left pane of Registry Editor window, navigate to following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\Microsoft\Office 3. In the right pane of above-mentioned registry location, right click the Office registry key and select Delete. Select Yes in the confirmation prompt so appear. 4. Reboot the machine and opt to install Office package now, the error should no longer persist. Hope this helps.
