uk666 5,298 Report post Posted June 6, 2020 Floyd’s Life Mattered Philip Pacheco (2020) This compassionately drawn portrait, displayed at face height to be encountered up close, concentrates on the simple human reality of Floyd’s death. Here was a man arrested in an investigation of a non-violent crime (passing counterfeit notes) who did not survive his arrest. Floyd was alive, then a white police officer Dennis Chauvin presses his knee onto George Floyd neck for eight minutes and 42 seconds and suddenly he was dead. This unadorned portrait is heart-breaking. It communicates the unadorned truth tearing America apart: Floyd’s life mattered.
