    USB Drive 2004 vs 2014

Photograph by PNG1 on reddit What a difference 10 years make! In this great ‘then and now’ comparison, we see a USB flash drive from 2004 vs a USB flash drive from 2014. For the non-techies, the USB drive on the bottom is 64 mb while the USB drive on the top has a 64 gb capacity. Today there are even smaller drives than the one showed in the picture above with even greater capacity, but this particular drive works well for comparison as they are similar in shape and design. 1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabytes So the USB drive on top has 1024 times the capacity of the drive on the bottom. This increase works quite elegantly with Moore’s law which is: The observation that, over the history of computing hardware, the number of transistors on integrated circuits doubles approximately every two years. The law is named after Intel co-founder Gordon E. Moore, who described the trend in his 1965 paper. His prediction has proven to be accurate, in part because the law is now used in the semiconductor industry to guide long-term planning and to set targets for research and development. The capabilities of many digital electronic devices are strongly linked to Moore’s law: processing speed, memory capacity, sensors and even the number and size of pixels in digital cameras. All of these are improving at roughly exponential rates as well. This exponential improvement has dramatically enhanced the impact of digital electronics in nearly every segment of the world economy. Moore’s law describes a driving force of technological and social change in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The period is often quoted as 18 months because of Intel executive David House, who predicted that chip performance would double every 18 months (being a combination of the effect of more transistors and their being faster). Although this trend has continued for more than half a century, Moore’s law should be considered an observation or conjecture and not a physical or natural law.

  19. MaleficaruM The Malleus Maleficarum (commonly rendered into English as "Hammer of [the] Witches" Der Hexenhammer in German) is a treatise on the prosecution of witches, written in 1486 by Heinrich Kramer, a German Catholic clergyman. The book was first published in Speyer, Germany, in 1487James Sprenger is also often attributed as an author, but some scholars now believe that he became associated with the Malleus Maleficarum largely as a result of Kramer's wish to lend his book as much official authority as possible. The main purpose of the Malleus was to systematically refute arguments claiming that witchcraft does not exist, to discredit those who expressed skepticism about its reality, to claim that those who practised witchcraft were more often women than men, and to educate magistrates on the procedures that could find them out and convict them Now a Film Maleficarum (2011) 102 min Maria Francisca, a wealthy young heiress and her friend Mariana De Castro, a young protestant widow, are accused of witchcraft and taken before the Spanish Inquisition of Lima, Peru. Today I hesitated

I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to change the software on kat's phone from AT&T(USA Provider) to Telstra(Aussie Provider), she bought the damn thing on Ebay because it was the same as her old one, but black, exactly like this one below: QWERTY Slide Phone with touchscreen, and after Googling and not getting many answers the .au LG site says I can do a restore with Aussie software, like the ppl she bought it off a year ago said could be done, so I DLed the usb drivers and software suites and sync program and then it told Me I needed Microsux Activesync, which had Me kinda puzzled but I DLed it and when I went to install it told Me it was obsolete and not compatable with windows 7, I needed Micro$ux Winblows Mobile Device Center from the Winblows update site, so a bit iffy about the Winblows Update site I searched Micro$ux and found it but I had to login with My Hotmail acct and verify My copy of winblows... That was when I hesitated, but thought screw it, what else could happen... So I DLed the verification tool and ran it and it gave Me a code I had to copy and paste back on the site and click next, My download started and with this next message, I smiled, then grinned 80) Thankyou Micro$ux for verifying My copy of Winblows... Don't yet know if I can get this phone to work properly yet but I'm working on it, she can make calls and send msgs but can't use her internet and data services, browser etc, I may even ask for help here if all else fails...

    The standard reply

My colleague was teasing me the other day. "Bet you can't see your Willy in the shower" he grinned. "Nope, all I can see is your Mum's head!" I smirked back.
