You may want to open the cover and look at the battery. Look for any size change in it like swelling and so on. And keep in mind batterys do go bad.

How old is this laptop? Does it work on power with no charge? can you remove the battery and put in back in?

Its been a while with Daz. So first question, Are you running it as an administrator? Next does it have an uninstall option when you run it to remove it self? If it does remove it then reboot and reinstall it.

Does Patroit have any software for this drive? Maybe a firmware update? Could just be dead, But I would go to them and there support pages.

THis may be late but what cd-dvd burner are you useing? How old is your setup? Windows 7 is very old. Windows 10 came out in 2015.

Have you tied it on another machine? how is it hooked up to the computer? have you checked in disk management for windows to see if its there but does not have a drive letter?

How did you format them? Did you use something built into windows, or an outside program?

I waited a long time to update my computer. It was worth the wait. This thing is fast. I love the speed of the hard drives. I noticed right away when copying from old hard drive to new ones how much faster it went. I will at some point play with the settings more

This may be too late But, I have done this. I downgraded win 7 back to Pro. Then used the windows 10 update assistant. It also gave me a free upgrade to windows 10 about a month ago. Very easy

Just Fan cooled. I will open it up and blow out my fans. Need to do that every once in a while. See if that cools it down a hair

Why is it no one likes Intel?
Mine is always work in progress. I think about the end of the year ill change the CPU and mother board.

Also make sure if using WinRaR that you are using 5.0 or higher

One last thing to check. Down on the task bar near your time and maybe even hidden down there, How many icons are there? Then start right clicking on as many as you can and closing them or shutting them down. You should only need the anti virus. Every thing else should close down.
Shut down as many as possible then try to shut down again. If be chance this does make it work better, then you would start closing them one by one and shutting down to find the problem program sticking on shut down.
Most but not all shut down problems are caused by a program not shutting down in a timely manner.

its a back slash you have in the post. It should be a forward one. see example. chkdsk c: /r ( note the space between c: and the forward /r )

Does you system as a whole run slower then it may have 6 months or 1 year ago? You should run a thorough scan of the C drive. Not the quick one. This scan could take an hour or more. open my computer, right click on C drive, reg click on properties, reg click tools, reg click error checking, put a check mark on booth options. Or from a command prompt type chkdsk c: /r

Try adding the file it is patching to the list

Running out of the temp folder could be spyware. I would check and see if the file is in the temp folder. If not I would delete the reference to the file. autoruns is one of many programs that will show the startup files and allow you to delete out the bad or missing.
