Half Monk 697 Report post Posted December 27, 2013 I’ve seen some pretty incredible case mods dating back to the day I saw the very first window cut into the side panel of a beige box well over a decade ago but I’m not sure I’ve witnessed one as detailed as this piece of work from Japanese designer Hiroto Ikeuchi. Known only as the “secret base” and inspired by mecha anime like Gundam and Macross, Ikeuchi spent the past year working on the design which extends well past the traditional case mod to encompass the keyboard, monitor and even the desk it sits on. The designer even built custom accessories like the tank thumb drive shown below. Some would argue that it’s less of a case mod and more of a full-blown miniature model. Ikeuchi said the most important thing is to think of it as a “living thing.” One thing is for sure: it’s damn cool! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
