can't create or leave homegroup win 7x64

I've tried the http://helpdeskgeek....t-to-homegroup/ link and done everything I could in there. I went into the registry, and didn't see anything in there saying disabled on the right pane. IP V6 is on. When I go into services, I clicked on all of the suggested services to make sure they're all set to automatic. I set all of them to auto, but " Peer Networking grouping service" wouldn't start. I got an error message saying "windows could not start the Peer Networking Grouping service on Local Computer Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." I tried to start it manually, but it didn't work. It gives the same error. @vigneshnallamad I am trying to do anything with the homegroup. I can't really do anything with it. Can't Join, can't leave, can't view password, or change.... nothing.

I have a desktop actually. Running an amd 6 core system. I have 8gb of ram. The only other widget I have running is the cpu / ram usage widget.

    windows desktop Widgets crashing.

Hey I'm having problems with my desktop Widgets crashing all the time. I'm running 7 x 64 ultimate. The problem started shortly after installing daemon tools (lite version I think) any suggestions other than the obvious (get rid of daemon tools widget) ?

can't create or leave homegroup win 7x64

Thanks. I'll check to make sure IP v6 is enabled. That's probably the issue. She still wants to re-install tho using her HP backup dvd's. I'd rather have her use a win7 ultimate disc, then find drivers.... but we'll see. Hopefully I get it working better.
  5. Wife's laptop won't let her do anything with the homegroup. She can't view the password, change password, create a homegroup. I am curious if anyone has seen this problem before. I suggest a full reformat. Her os is totally legit version. X64 home premium I think. I'm guessing the stupid HP software is half the problem.

Thanks for the info. I'll pass the word along.
