System Problems - probably THE RAM Need Tool To analyze
ski9826 replied to w8ingforyou's topic in Tech Discussion
You might try some benchmarking software like Sandra or Everest. They can tell you a lot about your system and its performance. -
Not sure regarding the encryption, but you cannot edit a PDF with just the reader - that's the whole point of the reader - to read only. If you want to edit, they want you to pay for their product Personally, I prefer cracking to paying, but maybe that's just me. I really like Nitro PDF Professional - I believe there is a link to it on this site. I use it to make my own forms in PDF format.

Window 8 and What I think - what do you think?

I downloaded the developer preview a few months back. Absolutely hated it. Not sure if that was just me being resistant to change, or if it was because I use Windows in a professional environment (mostly). I'll admit it would have been cooler if I had a touch screen computer, but I don't...and most others don't either. -
You probably have some of your RAM allocated as video memory. Is this the case?
-
Have tested this a bit. If you load windows onto the disk from a disk image, it only takes a few minutes - pretty cool. Windows boots in like 7 seconds. Also cool. Did run across some issues that caused me to decide to switch back to a regular HDD, but it has good potential. I also thought that you could probably do something that would have almost the same effect as adding more RAM - increase the size of your virtual memory and make sure that the page file is stored on the SSD. I would guess that it increases the speed of your machine close to or as well as adding more memory.

So it seems that the conversion process is not the answer. I am able to reduce the file size by changing the resolution on my desktop monitor to like 1024x768, and then selecting that screen size from the options. Exporting to a .swf seems to work just fine and is fairly compatible with peoples' computers for viewing.

I am currently working with a cracked version of Adobe Captivate 5. I am making a demo of our web based software with audio, mouse clicks, and video of my screen while I navigate the web site demonstrating different things. I made a 3 minute video at 1024x768 and exported it to a .f4v video file. But the file is 17mb. I would like it to be MUCH smaller than that without making too large of a sacrifice to quality. I will need to post these videos as tutorials on our corporate web site and don't want our end users to spend all day downloading them. Any suggestions for shrinking the published project or perhaps a conversion of the .f4v file to like a .avi or something? Thanks for reading! Please help!

Love convertxtoDVD, but it did not help in this case.

Frame rate is I think 36. I have tried mkv and it's still big. I have a 1min 28sec video that i did as a test and it comes out to like 17megabytes. I am wanting to do some 30 minute ones and don't want them to be so big. Is there another program out there that produces smaller videos that I can use to demo the functionality of our web site? I am not set on using Captivate.

I tried some of those things, but there was not really a significant reduction to the file size I did try that before I posted. It just seems weird that a video file would have to be so large when it's not HD or anything...
