In my backward country (Britain) the same thing happens all the time, I think the big pharmaceutical companies Lobbying the government might have something to do with it. just doesn’t make any sense to give chemicals instead of nature’s own cure, not cost affective to the state or the taxpayer, only the pharmaceutical companies make the big bucks.
