I favor AMD chips & as far as laptop manufactures I would go with lenovo. Look 4 reviews of laptops the have some of the best products & Customer support. As a side-note I have a friend who has had a few of these & some of them R pretty old. So I would say that they R built 2 last. dirty ;}

The Hard drive is failing. What U need to do is get UR data off of that drive ASAP. Stop using the drive till U can clone it. I have more insights but since U want this closed Y bother. Good-luck, dirty

Well it seems as though U have sorted this out. I have had a problem like this; it was so long ago, but I think that my fix was 2 reset the GFx Cards. But generally I start stripping it down & getting naked. Then add a component & test, add another & test. When doing this I will clean everything while I have it out 2. I also visually inspect all the fans 2 B sure they R running as the should B. 1 last thing I might add is I will also replace or swap-out the CMOS Batt. If all of that fails I might replace or swap-out the cables including the PSU cord that plugs in2 the wall.

There are 57,000,000 answers to this same "?" How much time do U have 2 solve this. I don't know about U but I don't want 2 try each 1. Did U add a program just before this problem like i.e. "Advanced System Care _ from IOBIT software" if so that is the culprit. U have 2 go in2 its config 2 tell it 2 ignore the clipboard cache when it does it's memory management tasks. Otherwise it kills copy/paste functionality totally. The above is the hard way going through each solution 1 by 1. In the end non of them might not work. Then what? So why not work backward like I suggested B4? Ok so U tried what 425 said, but did U try what I said B4? I told U that a Bak is the way 2 go. Check & update the drivers 4 UR input devices. Or 2 try different input devices. Try booting in safe mode does the problem persist? Why don't / didn't U take my advise B4. U could have fixed this already. Even if U don't have a Bak if U do a clean install of Win_ on another HDD or partition & U still have the problem then U will know that UR Hardware [MoBo] is failing. U could be living on borrowed time & don't even know it. I don't care if UR gear is new. New stuff fails too. If that is the case U should find out sooner rather than later. While it is under warranty. If its older gear & not under warranty then U still new 2 know ASAP so U can find UR next rig & put it together or buy it what ever U choose do. Don't chase mystery bugs that U may or may not have. Fix the problem. 1st eliminate that possibility of hardware failure. Then decide do U want to chase down bugs or rebuild. I know I have 90 programs installed & from previous build I know that it will take me about 8Hrs to manually install & configure them. If UR really sharp U can automate this & do it unattended. I am not that sharp so I make Baks. That is my automation. If I have a problem right now I can restore my Bak & be up & running in 20/30 minutes. That's is with all 3 of my booting partition [8,7, & XP] & all of the 60/80/90 programs, & updates each retrospectively intact along with my custom settings. Listen if U have been running that build 4 more that 2 years U should be making plans to reformat anyway. This time when U do so do it smart. Only install what U want/need. Stay off the WWW as much as possible while building. Make some Baks in step while U build. Next time U have this or any other problem that solution will B easy. Restore UR Bak. Then if the problem persists U can trouble shoot from there.

1st of all U should have done a search on the web. There is a ton of info on this & how 2 do it so many different ways. That's all I did 2 get U this info I will B providing. So no this is not my Tut but some1 else's I found & decided that it was the easiest 2 get U going with the desired results. Don't get me wrong I am happy some1 asked a "?" things have been slow here @ the Help Desk lately. I am just saying that U could have found this out on UR own. So with out any further delay lets get started shall we? Enjoy.

See if U could get UR hands on Parallel Password Recovery it offers multi-core, & its GPU-enabled & I think U could use multiple PCs through UR network 2 crack the pass, but I am not 100% sure. I just played with the demo which is limited & no fun because of the limitations they put on it. I would guess that if U have good Gfx cards this could help U get it done 20-30% faster, but that's just a guess. Even if U don't if U could do an attack across/through multiple PCs that would speed things up also. I was looking 2 get my hands on this a few weeks back, but it seems that the scene is not up on it yet or playing it close 2 the chest. I would poke around & look for it 4 U, but I am up 2 my eye-balls with alligators, & need to pack 4 our vacation 2night we plan 2 get out the door early in the morning. Good-Luck, dirty

I probably shouldn't help U because U called me a liar. The evil & vindictive side of me wants 2 watch U flounder. But I will help U despite that. Besides I gain much satisfaction in knowing that once I put-up the info U doubted U shut-up. Nothing wrong with being skeptical pal but, I don't need 2 impress U or any1 else. I was simply answering UR "?" & trying 2 impress upon U the reason 4 my preference. Don't ask a "?" if UR not ready 4 the answer. Look 4 a pro called Google Books Downloader. Enjoy, dirty ;}

Next time check 2 see if there is already posted info 2 help U rather than starting your own thread. Here daytrader provides a ton of different recovery warez. I recommend kernel, & there R also many other good 1s that I use that R not provided. Now if U deleted files on UR C drive of the PC that UR using the more U use it, the less likely U will b able 2 recover what U want, because recovery gets more difficult the more the disk is wrote 2. So stop using the disk or U wont get what U want back. Good-luck, dirty ;p

I have heard nothing good about "freelancer " with a "r", but have heard good things about "freelance" I heard that "freelancer" rips-off everyone clients & freelancers. I don't know how or where to direct U if U R avoiding these types of places. I can code, but would be worried about getting paid; likewise U would be worried about getting work. Which is why freelance & places like it are cool because the money is held in escrow.

The Beep is the Bios telling that something is wrong. Like for example this happened to me B4 for my MediaCenter. The wife put a blanket over the wireless keyBoard so the buttons were pressed/held down. Now that might not be your problem but it is something like this. I would watch the machine post some time you will see a message come up quickly from the Bios, but it is so fast you cant read it you will have to get the timing just right & hit "Pause-Break" button to see this. Maybe it might tell U in the Bios if you go in there. But I would start disconnecting things like any dongles try a different keyboard or mouse. If that doesn't work the start disconnecting the CD-Rom reset the RAM pop & swap the CMOS Batt. the other guys will give some more ideas but I would start eliminating things by disconnecting them. But no I don't think it is the HDD
