ok thanks guyz I will try the above suggestions on like Monday, or Tuesday. It soundz right. I mean easy enough & I think its right because last time I did it, it didnt seem hard at all & pretty straight forward just like the last 2 suggestions. @ vigneshnallamad yeah I got the data in all types of ways. I got the partition & could make the media. My laptop just arrived yesterday. 1st thing I did waz take out the OEM HDD & make an image with Acronis. Then 2 verify that it will work in the future I restored the new image 2 a spare HDD. That worked. All 4 drives restored. lenovo has 2 visible partitions & 2 invisible Windowz wanted 2 detect devices & setup I just shut it down. Because I want Fadora on this machine. So I am not going 2 be using this OS that came preloaded. I do however have a spare Desktop PC that I would like 2 put my unused preloaded OS on. I called lenovo after getting tired of waiting for a rep in chat for 4 episodes of batman, so that waz like 40 minz or a little more. Waiting 2 speak 2 some1 waz another 4 epiz of batman. 120+ minz of waiting. No1 ever did come 2 chat in that time. But they did answer the phone & I told them 2 send me install discs & they said they cant send install just recovery. I replied that the Windowz EULA is for 1 PC but it doesnt have 2 b this lenovo if I have no use 4 it on this machine. Furthermore when the board is toast I will no longer b able 2 use this legal copy of Windowz that I own. Well that waz a dead end. Anyway I waz thinking & I remember being able 2 slipstream a preloaded copy of XP. So that it waz stripped down just the OS & none of the manufactures junk. The copy I made years ago is bootable & will do a clean install on any PC I run it on. So what I want 2 do is make my own install disc using the recovery media [i thought that waz how I did it last time] But I see some people speaking about a system disc from the OS. Yeah I could do this but it will have all the lenovo driverz & Windowz will have a fit if I try to use a system disc image as an install image on another PC, no? A bit long winded but know U know all the dirty detailz Thanks 4 Ur replies, ?s, & comments. dirty ;}

Upon re-reading Ur post I see U did a reformat & that didnt work so I am going with hardware failure. If u r comfortable taking it apart to see if the port that is acting up could just b replaced. Then just order it. & install it. If its not & on the board side of things u will have 2 send it out or just forget about it. Dont worry if its on the board side it will get worse & other hardware will start 2 fail also. So Ur options R send it out 2 b repaired @ the component level, find a new board, or find a new laptop. But U probably have anywhere from a year 2 six months left with Ur beloved b4 it dies. Sorry 2 b the barer of bad newz. I hope i am wrong.

Is it just one port or all. Is it only with one type of device. ie flashDrive, external whatever, hub. U could try this :::| First disconnect all USB devices connected then Right click "My Computer" Click "Properties" Click "Device Manager" Alternately U could do the same thing by keying the WindowsButton+R @ the same time. A run window will popup then type "devmgmt.msc" in it. ok so U will b looking @ a window like this. If U have a yield sign with a ! mark over it then U have a driver error. And this wont help U. So no error proceed & click on the USB Controller like I already did in the picture. Once it opens up Right Click on the first Generic USB Hub. Click uninstall. Confirm that this is what U want 2 do. Windows will want 2 reboot & even if it doesnt prompt U, U will have 2 2 finish the process. Upon reboot U should have everything back as new. If this doesnt work this could b a sign of hardware failure. Some ports can b replace individually but some will require component level repair. GoodLuck. I was just reading this & thought it might give U somemore insight on the hosts.txt file on a x64 bit platform.

Can any1 agree on the best of anything. Here check out this Wiki Yeah so it is up 2 U. I will say that U could use Eclipse & 2 get familiar with it U could checkout this Programming Methodology. If U do the course work U will acquire about 100 hrs of programing knowledge in Eclipse but using Java. Java is in strong demand. Its not C/C++ as requested but U could fallow that course up with Programming Abstractions. U will have 2 test 2 see what is right 4 U & what U r doing & what platform Ur doing it in.

The hosts file is a computer file used in an operating system to map hostnames to IP addresses. The hosts file is a plain-text file and is conventionally named hosts. Heres a Wiki Try using "HostsXpert" its easy. There r otherz but I have used "HostsXpert" B4 & I like it & its free. I dont know what this file that U have looks like but U should b able 2 edit it. if so edit it @ copy the values to Ur host file. I would make a copy of the original host file on Ur machine 1st. Just in case Ur unhappy with the results or whatever.

If U want 2 grow friends U must do what most others fear. This was so huge non of us even know, I am sure if many others had 2 make the same decision they would still be trying 2 hold on 2 the vbul.
