  1. yep, Im with @daytrader. we dont help with any type of hacking. Please dont misunderstand us, we are not accusing you of anything.... its just a slippery slope that we do not try to walk up. Now, since you have you acct back, you can set it up so that every login attempt will actually need a serial number and will send it to your phone. that way, you can tell when your acct is logged in. I do it, and thats the way I prefer it to be. you can do this by going to security settings.

  2. VLC is all I have used for the last 4 yrs. I have never had a problem with it. @Blackrome03, if you are just stuck on FLV then uninstall it, run a registry cleaner to remove any registry files that may be left over from it, then try and install again. But still, VLC is MUCH BETTER than even Realplayer Pro. I have used both and speak from experience. Let us know if you try vlc or the suggestion that I made. We'll keep chugging along on it if you like. Good Luck!

  6. uninstall the FLV app, then reinstall it. that is going to be the easiest no-mess way to fix it. I didnt really come up with anything when I searched either. dont delete any folders that you have or anything, just go to 'Control Panel' / 'Programs and Features' and uninstall then reinstall.

  7. I noticed that you mentioned that DVD-drive was scsi in your specs. You should make sure that you have the OS scsi driver. I may be wrong, but I know that with XP and Vista, you needed a separate scsi driver for the OS itself for the motherboard. without it the motherboard cannot process the info, especially if you are running an Intel processor. Again, I may be wrong because I dont know as much about Win7/8 as I do all previous OS's, but with previous OS's, you had to install the scsi driver for the motherboard during the initial OS setup. If you have driver disks for your hardware, you can find it on them, try the MB driver disk first, then look on the rom driver disk. You might even be able to find it from microsoft. If you think I may be on to something, let me know and I will investigate it further for you. One more thing, is this a new drive or did it just stop working after you upgraded?

  8. hey guys, we are still looking for code from anything you have that is useful. I will be posting a lot of command shell scripts that I wrote for my job as a Sys Admin. Hopefully, they will be helpful to someone who needs to do the same things I did. They mostly deal with server scripts and network info scripts. If any of you have anything...I mean, ANYTHING, please by all means feel free to post. THANKS!!!!

  9. @hashjec, search google for a program called ComboFix. Also rkill, it will stop the program from running and kill the service so you can ran a virus scan on it to clean it. Malwarebytes works great in this capacity, or you can use whatever AV you already have. Once it is cleaned, just reboot and run your program as usual. Also, if you know what the virus name is from your AV, search google for a removal tool specific to that virus. Many times the top dog AV corp. has already released a tool for it. Good Luck!!!

  10. BigD47 is right unfortunately. If the os has been reinstalled, there is no way possible for his preloaded programs to work. If the hklm keys and dll's are not properly linked to them, everything essentially becomes "orphan" files. The only thing to do in this case is to reinstall EVERYTHING. Sorry mstang, I know thats not the news you wanted to hear, but without those program "instuction files", the programs are dead in the water. If you had made a backup OR if you HAVE a backup of your registry to reinstall, you might have a chance, even then some of the programs still would not work without proper links to instuction files, cabs, runtimes, etc. Best thing to do to insure programs run the way they are supposed to, is just reinstall it all.

  11. I would try using a service manager like msconfig to see if you have a conflict with 2 apps using the same service (dll). this will cause one app to work fine while the other app freaks out because a dll file is no longer tied to it, and of course, it causes the pc to lag or even hang. look at your services running AND look for replication, especially on the multi-media apps and codecs. it sounds like your codecs and possibly an app are the problem, and it can be hard to pinpoint it down because the same service will work on another app. I know its tedious work, but it's the only way to find it, especially if you reinstall all the same apps that you had before you reformatted.
