  1. Adobe used to be good software. Sometime it is very annoying for updating the program automatically. So to get rid of that annoying update program, there are two options 1)remove Updater.api from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins 2)disable Adobe Reader Update Manager Another option is to carefully edit the registry. 1. Choose Start > Run. 2. Type regedit in the Open text field, and then click OK to start the Windows Registry Editor. 3. In the Registry Editor, make a backup copy of the registry by choosing Registry > Export Registry File. In the Export Registry File dialog box, choose a location and type a name for the backup file, and then click Save. 4. Locate and select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ key. 5. Right-click on updateMgr, choose Delete and click Yes. 6. Restart your computer. Cheers!
