Microsoft acquires two third party Dynamics AX software products

Recommended Posts

Microsoft is expanding its Microsoft Dynamics AX efforts by acquiring the rights to two software products made by a third party software publisher. The publisher is Indiana-based Blue Horseshoe and in a press release this week, it revealed that Microsoft has bought its Warehousing for AX and Transportation for AX solutions.

The press release does not offer any financial details on Microsoft's latest acquisition. The two software products will be put to work with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to add a number of business features and services, such as inventory control, rate, route and load planning, freight reconciliation and more.

Chris Cason, the president of Blue Horseshoe, stated:

Blue Horseshoe’s advanced supply chain solutions not only support our direct customers, but have also proven beneficial to many other Microsoft Partners and their clients. Our company is excited about the collaboration with Microsoft and our ability to continue to grow and advance within the supply chain industry.

Microsoft has been busy on other fronts in its Dynamics AX division. Last week, the company quietly released its first three apps made specifically for Windows 8 that were made to help businesses write up and send out timesheets, expense reports and approvals.
