Microsoft Paint is the canvas for 97-year-old legally blind artist

Long before Microsoft released Fresh Paint for Windows 8 and most recently Windows Phone 8, the company offered up other digital art and drawing tools. The most well known is Microsoft Paint, which has been included in all of the versions of Windows.

If you ever wanted to see what someone could do with Microsoft Paint, there's no better place to look than at the website of Hal Lasko. The 97-year-old former graphic designer from Cleveland may be legally blind now, but that has not stopped him from making some truly terrific looking pieces of artwork using Microsoft's free drawing tool.

 

The website says that Lasko was introduced to Microsoft Paint by his family in the late 1990s. Despite becoming legally blind in 2005, the site says that Lasko still works 10 hours a day making his artwork with the software program.

 

Lasko released a new YouTube video this week, shown above, that tells more of his story and how he works within Microsoft Paint. In the video, Lasko says that using the program allows him to magnify the artwork so he can still work on his creations. His website is currently selling prints of his work for $98 each. Ten percent of the sales will go to Veterans of Foreign Wars programs.
