According to local media, Birmingham Mayor William Bell announced the pilot and co-pilot of the UPS cargo plane were killed in the crash. UPS Flight 1354, an Airbus A300, crashed around 6 a.m. EDT outside of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM), according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
