HTC's new Windows Phone to come in the fall, reaffirms commitment to Windows Phone

Recommended Posts

After being the subject of rumors floating around last week, HTC once again appears to be reaffirming its commitment to Windows Phone as trusted sources have confirmed that the HTC One Windows Phone variant is coming, and due to be unveiled this fall.

The specs include:

  •  4.7 inch 1080p Super LCD 3 screen
  •  Beats audio
  •  2GB of RAM
  •  32GB of memory (unlike the 16GB used for the 8X)

As it comes with GDR3, it will undoubtedly use a higher power chip-set than current Windows Phone flagship models as well as long overdue feature updates like rotation lock,  new tile UI and possibly a notification center.

While actions speak louder than words, sometimes words help to clarify the actions, the HTC senior Global Communications Manager told Mary Jo Foley via Twitter that the company was still committed to Windows Phone, and that recent rumors of them moving way to Android were in fact just rumors.

HTC will however have to move fast in the Windows Phone market to avoid being trampled by both Nokia as Samsung as both companies gear up to reveal new products this fall. Nokia with its Rivendale rumored phablet, and Samsung with its mysterious SGH-I187 Windows Phone
