Half Monk 697 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 We’ve known for a while – actually, quite a while – that BlackBerry plans to bring its BBM messaging service to rival platforms iOS and Android. The company has so far held off on committing itself to a date, but it looks like the launch may be more or less imminent. Yesterday, BlackBerry launched a new landing page on its site, with the banner above, proudly declaring that “BBM for Android and iPhone is here”, along with dead download links to the respective app stores for Android and iOS. Alas, as Engadget reports, BBM for Android and iPhone isn’t here, and the company still hasn’t revealed when it will be. Order has since been restored on BlackBerry.com, with that page having now disappeared, and the BBM page reiterating that the service is still “coming” to both platforms at some point in the future.
