NeophobiA 1,503 Report post Posted May 22, 2014 Flying car manufacturer Terrafugia says that its Transition model is due for a possible release next year. Does this mean the future’s finally here, with hoverboards and robot pizzas and such? Oh, be still our hearts. This isn’t the first flying car to be promised to members of the public “soon”. The Parajet Skycar This British-designed machine flew around Spain making headlines in 2009, hoping to be available to the public “in 2010”. Moller SkyCar To be fair, this looks AWESOME. It has, however, been available for pre-order since the 1990s. We might be waiting a while. To be fair, Terrafugia have approached the design problem in an innovative. Instead of building a car that can suddenly fly, they’ve just built an aeroplane that is slightly better to drive to the shops. That is to say, the wings fold up. Sort of like this? So, yeah, next year members of the public might be able to buy… a plane. Here’s Terrafugia’s video, explaining what they’re actually trying to achieve: http://youtu.be/hD35wLRdvjo ThanX Shock Mansion http://youtu.be/SqmILVE7nPQ
