    ethernet problem

If you have DHCP server (or a router that assign IP addresses) then your current configuration is fine (obtain ip address automatically), just to make sure you got one click "run" in the start menu type "cmd" the click ok type "ipconfig" then you should see the IP you got under you NIC name like this one (192.168.0.2 in this pic) If you got any or an IP address like (169.254.X.X) then maybe you have no DHCP in the network. As for workgroup check this page for how to check/change it, the default workgroup is "WORKGROUP" but in this page it is "HOMEGROUP". http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic43840.html Compare yours with other computer in the network, they must be the same. Good luck...

Add line in your hosts file

Try avoid deleting that line even tough it is a commentary (a "#" in the beggining of the line), instead add what you want to add in new lines, here is an exemple of mine: # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost 192.168.0.1 router1 192.168.0.2 router2 192.168.0.4 km4 192.168.0.6 user1 192.168.0.7 user2 I use it to simply address machines in the network by the name given in "hosts" file instead of their IP address. For more information read the commentaries at beggining of the "hosts" file itself. Here it is to save you time: Hope this help you.

    ethernet problem

It might be due to an external element like router, did you check if other computers on the network are working fine or not?

    Combining .ISO file

Nice addition, files's structure should be put in consideration too.

    Combining .ISO file

I think you did not downloaded the DVDs version of this OS, instead unknowinglly you downloaded the CDs version which has the OS separated on 9 CDs in your case, combining them is a nice thing, but i wouldn't go for that If I were you since it might affect the boot loader of these CDs and the installtion process of these OS. (imagine you did combine them, and now you are installing the OS, then a message appeared that says "insert CD #2", what would you do when it is already in the DVD you combined?).

    ethernet problem

I think your system is fine, just that your network configuration is wrong. First thing to do is to check that your "WORKGROUP" match the one used in the network. Second thing is your IP address: If the network you are trying to access can assign IP address automatically (present of DHCP), then make yours automtique as well If this network does not have any DHCP then you should assign IP configuration that match with the network (IP, Netmask, Gateway and DNS server) I suggest your network has a DHCP so try to clear up any IP address that is already assigned. I hope this help, good luck.

    unable to uninstall DeepFreeze

This is the right way to unistall deepfreez, jut to avoid any problem try using the same file you used to install it, "DF5Std.exe" or "DF6Std.exe" are default names, yours might have a different name.

    wifi

I don't think such thing will be given as a homework. The man is trying to crack in his neighor wifi, it had been in my mind for a while, but i've never give it a try "Aircrack-ng", just make sure you are hacking the right wpa as it has more than one version. Sorry that's all i can give you for the moment.
