have u tried to install windows 10 via usb, just to try??

Hello one and all, My name is Marilyn and I am new to this site. I tried to read all the rules and regs and to understand them. I am blond so I hope if I slip up you take that into consideration. There is not much to tell about me, I'm an artist, I hang out in Paintshop Pro groups, and found my way here from a site that recommended you. I am not online much, I have a very busy life. I am on a fixed income so my money has to be spread around very carefully, I am always looking for ways to get the things I need at a minimum cost. Can't install Win 7 on fresh install. Gets to "License Terms" and mouse and keyboard stop working. Yes, I have been all over Google and can't find something I can wrap my head around. Using old spare Vista box now, but it is extremely slow and keeps locking up. (Don't care about that one) I believe it's a USB driver problem, from what I have read, if anybody has those files. Apparently I have to add them to the install disk. AMD FX8370 Black ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 (I know, it's ancient) EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 740 1GB GDDR5 (If that matters) SAMSUNG 850 PRO SSD All new Started out with no video. Switched back to my old ATI Sapphire Radeon HD5670 1GB DDR3. Now at least I have video. Trying to install Windows 7 SP1 (repeatedly). Gets to "License Terms" and mouse and keyboard stop working. Does anybody have anything a little easier (Senile) that actually works? Many thanks CP

It may be a hardware problem try connecting a wired mouse and keyboard to the USB port at the back of PC (due to lack of SP2, Win7 has no USB3 drivers so use a USB2 port for flash install and make sure USB3 controller is disabled in BIOS setup) If it is still not working, you could try connecting the Wired mouse and keyboard to PS2 port (if PS2 port are available)

I've used Rufus in the past to make a Windows Bootable USB - I hope this helps https://rufus.akeo.ie Set Rufus with the settings below: (see screenshot below) [Under Device, select the USB flash drive you want to format and use. Under Format Options, check Create a bootable disk using, click/tap on the browse icon to navigate to and select your 64-bit Windows 7 ISO file. Under Partition scheme and target system type, select MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI computers. Under File system, select NTFS. Under Cluster size, select the (Default) (ex: 16 kilobytes or 4096 bytes) it has listed. Under Format Options, check Quick format. Under Format Options, check Create extended label and icon files. Under New volume label, you can enter any name you like for the USB flash drive, or leave the default name.

I'm really sorry about you personal tragedy. The annoying loss of some data is noting compared to the great personal losses you've suffered and no dogs and birds you may have can replace a daughter! Just hope that visting this forum you may find some sane distraction keeping your thoughts free of sorrow while here. Welcome!

hello all, I was a member of your other site for a very long time, BUT it has been a very long time since i was there and it seemed you moved, a little about myself my name is Linda I am 55 soon to be 56 very soon, I am going to skip this birthday not as a joke but because my heart can't handle it, I lost my daughter 2 days before my birthday this year will be 1 year on April 21 she was 35 and both of my parents within a 36 hour period in April 2016 my computer crashed last night and i lost a lot of important programs...BUT i know i can't make a request until I share at least 5x. I own 3 birds, 1 cat & 2 pit bulls. I live in queens NY
